Meunier tu dors is a 100% Pinot Meunier zero dosage champagne from Romain Henin's experimental label "La Bulle Libre," with the 2022 vintage being the primary release. The name playfully references the French nursery rhyme "Frère Jacques" ("Brother John, are you sleeping?") and the Meunier grape variety.

The Winemaker's Story

Romain Henin took over his family's 7.5-hectare estate in Aÿ-Champagne in 2021, radically transforming it from conventional to biodynamic farming.

The 33-year-old implemented vitiforestry by planting 100 trees per hectare within the vineyards and creates natural infusions from horsetail, yarrow, nettles, and dandelion flowers for vineyard treatments. He produces minimal-intervention champagnes without additives or sulfur, believing properly harvested and vinified champagne doesn't require added sugar. His philosophy focuses on showcasing "depth, energy and drinkability" rather than making overtly natural wines. Henin only produces vintage champagnes to reflect each year's unique character.
