Clos du Val Hirondelle Vineyard Estate Cabernet Franc 2018

The CVD 2018 consists of 80% Cabernet Franc and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon from their Hirondelle Estate vineyard in Stag’s Leap, aged in 66% new French oak. It displays a deep ruby red color with prominent legs. The nose reveals medium aromas of black cherries, blueberries, toasted oak, mocha, herbs, rose petals, and tobacco. On the palate, it exhibits medium+ acidity and medium+ fine-grained, integrated tannins. With a medium+ body and an alcohol content of 14.5%, it features pronounced flavors of blackberries, blueberries, toasted oak, licorice, violets, mocha, and herbs. The wine finishes long and balanced, showcasing perfect harmony and lift, with the potential to age gracefully for another decade.
